Agreed. I don't think I have respected any character as much as Hadlar. Great character writing and development. Close ones that first come to mind in terms of honor are Jonathan Joster from Jojo and Rengoku from Demon Slayer. All of them died with a smile.

He reminds me of Piccolo from Dragon Ball.Somebody who was once a great arch enemy to the protagonist but got turned over to the good side eventually after going through character development during the series. Though unlike with Piccolo, Hadlar died on the same day he became good.

Piccolo has a wonderful progress.

It's so good to finally see Dai's Adventure return. Such a good episode too. And maybe I haven't been paying too much attention or the time off is messing with my perception. But this episode looks especially well animated. Toei came back strong here. This anime is an absolute gem to the lucky people that find and give it a go. I actually really despised Hadlar, but he did a complete 180 and I love him now. Can't wait to see how the next few episodes go. Give em hell Dai and crew.

It saddens me how little this anime is talked about. It's got just as much of that old-school cool feel to it as the games and some of these episodes are just incredible.

A momentous episode to return with after all these weeks with no Dai. Talk about an epic send off for Hadlar. Someone whom has been the primary villain, aside from a few chunks, for this story to resolve with the heroes right at the end. Hadlar and Popp having one of the best heart to hearts of the show so far. Nearly brought me to tears when Hadlar started to talk about how much it meant to him that Popp would save someone like that. I knew Hadlar always had respect and honor towards Dai and company but when he jumped up to grab the fire so Popp could unleash the spell it shocked me too. Just like Popp I was kinda astonished Hadlar would do that even if he was already on deaths door.
Dai managing to escape without Popp did complicate matters but it lead to a crazy return of Avan!! The legendary hero didn't actually die!? Or has been brought back!? We'll have more answers soon. Wicked way to save Popp and send off Hadlar with a reverse of his first appearance. Came in killing Avan and goes out saving his life. Hadlar was a real one

by far the best episode of the series so far, Hadlar def put a tear in my eyes yo.......and the ending was just perfect. Well worth the wait while Toei gets everything back on lock.
